In this episode of The Edventure Brief, the Edventure Co-Founders Ragnor Comerford and Fynn Comerford sit with Omri-Amirav Drory, Ph.D., general partner at NFX Bio. Following his Ph.D., he founded Genome Compiler, developing software for genetic engineers, molecular biologists and synthetic biologists, which was later acquired by Twist Bioscience. After heading Corporate Development at Twist, he founded Tech.Bio (https://www.tech.bio/), investing in and advising disruptive biotech companies such as Mammoth Biosciences, immunai, C2i Genomics, and many more.
We discuss his career path leading him from the lab bench to the VC table. We explore characteristics of successful founders in the biotech sphere and what it takes to succeed in this rapidly evolving industry as well as diving into the nuances of biotech and "techbio". We elaborate on questions regarding healthcare access, why drug development becomes more expensive and slow, and dabble a bit in topics such as longevity, immunology, and synthetic biology.

Talking Biotech with NFX Bio General Partner Omri-Amirav Drory

In this podcast episode, we sit with Cally Russel, founder and CEO of Mallzee, a unique data and technology company, founded in Scotland in 2013. Mallzee aims to change the retail industry with the Malzee App and Malzee Insights. While the Mallzee App allows consumers to browse clothes through Mallzees 'Tinder-style' system and buy from 100s of high street brands direct from their phone, Mallzee Insights leverages these unique real-time/real consumer opinions to provide retailers with valuable insights. 
In this podcast, we discuss how Mallzee's solution can help disrupt the notoriously unsustainable retail industry by helping retailers understand what is going to sell and what is not. We explore the hurdles and challenges of the path towards a circular economy such as making sustainable products attainable to the mass market and not only privileged demographics.
Lastly, we explore how COVID has affected the retail industry and how Mallzee has helped to alleviate the consequences of the pandemic on those most affected in the retail industry supply chains such as factory workers in  Bangladesh and India.

Making the Retail Industry More Sustainable with Cally Russel, Founder and CEO of Mallzee

In this podcast episode, we sit with Alexandra Pacuraru, Hayaat Nankya Kagimu, and Stuthi Hegde, who are team members of Future Me, a startup that aims to encourage students to chose STEM-related careers. In this episode, we discuss the STEM gap: Women make up only 28% of the workforce in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), and men outnumber women majoring in most STEM fields in college. 
We discuss the emergence of the STEM gap at the pre-school level and potential causes like disparities in gender attributions between STEM and non-STEM subjects. With an eye on Future Me's mission, we explore the significance of role models in the choice of career paths, highlighting the importance of being guided by someone with a similar background and experience.

The STEM Gap, Why It Exists And What We Can Do About it With FUTURE ME

In this podcast episode, we sit with Natasha Braginsky Mounier, independent director at Sberbank and senior fellow at FCLTGlobal.
